The schedule at three distances

  1. Now: reviews already available and estimated time to clear them.

  2. Today: the next wave and hourly demand over 24 hours.

  3. Ahead: a multi-day timeline with important review windows visible.

Forecast · immediate demand

See due now and the next wave together.

The summary keeps the two decisions that matter first in one place: whether to clear the current queue now and how long until the next batch arrives. Estimated study time gives the count a practical cost.

Plan · workload becomes a decision

Let tomorrow influence today’s lessons.

Forecast becomes more useful when it changes what you do now. Plan reads the due queue, upcoming review demand, Apprentice room, and level-up priorities before recommending the next batch—or recommending no new lessons.

  • Reviews first when the queue is already active
  • Upcoming demand considered before new lessons
  • A smaller batch or zero when the day is full

Today · why some waves matter more

Connect review timing to the level-up path.

Not every review wave has the same effect on progress. Today shows the current threshold, the kanji still needed, and the earliest checkpoint so you can understand why a later review window may deserve more attention than its raw count suggests.

  • Current-level threshold and remaining kanji
  • Earliest checkpoint beside current readiness
  • The next action linked to level-up priorities

Common questions

WaniKani questions, answered clearly

When is my next WaniKani review?

Forecast shows reviews already due, the scheduled time of the next available batch, and the time remaining until it arrives. The values come from the latest WaniKani availability data refreshed into this browser.

How far ahead does the review forecast look?

The wave chart covers the next 24 hours. The desktop timeline continues across the following days so you can see whether today’s light period is followed by a heavier schedule.

Does Wanascope send review reminders when the site is closed?

Yes. In Forecast, choose All reviews or Level-up only and allow browser notifications. When a reminder arrives, your browser checks WaniKani directly before showing the latest queue and level-up-path counts, even when the Wanascope tab is closed. Your API key stays in this browser and is never stored by Wanascope servers. Choose Off at any time to remove the reminder credential and stop notifications. On iPhone or iPad, add Wanascope to the Home Screen first.

Wanascope is an independent tool and is not affiliated with WaniKani or Tofugu. Lessons and reviews in Study sync directly to WaniKani.
