Level-up timing · current path and long-term pace

Know what controls your next WaniKani level.

See the kanji still on the critical path, the first possible checkpoint if their reviews land on time, and how your real completed-level pace changes the longer journey to Level 60.

  1. Which current-level kanji still block the 90% Guru threshold?

  2. When can those items return if every review is passed on time?

  3. How does that optimistic checkpoint differ from your Level 60 pace?

Today · critical path

Start with the blockers, not the date.

Today puts the current level, passed-kanji count, remaining threshold, readiness, and earliest possible checkpoint in one line of sight. The date stays attached to the work that makes it possible.

  • Passed kanji versus the Guru threshold
  • Kanji still needed for the next level
  • Earliest checkpoint beside the current action

Forecast · timing behind the estimate

See the review wave behind the checkpoint.

A level-up estimate is only useful when you can see the sessions it depends on. Forecast separates reviews due now, the next wave, the following 24 hours, and the next few days so the important windows are easier to protect.

  • Due-now reviews and the next scheduled batch
  • Hourly workload across the next 24 hours
  • Review windows that may contain level-up items

Progress · the longer journey

Keep the next level separate from Level 60.

Progress treats the next checkpoint and long-term pace as different questions. Use the roadmap for immediate level-up timing, then compare completed-level pace with later milestones and the estimated Level 60 range.

  • Next checkpoint and long-term milestones
  • Typical pace from completed levels
  • Estimated Level 60 range, not a promise

WaniKani questions, answered clearly

How does Wanascope calculate the earliest WaniKani level-up?

It follows the current-level kanji needed for the 90% Guru threshold, their present SRS stages, locked dependencies, and the review steps still required. The result assumes every required review is completed correctly at its first available time.

Why can the earliest level-up date move?

Incorrect answers, missed review windows, newly unlocked dependencies, and later refreshes can change the critical path. Wanascope recalculates from the latest read-only WaniKani data available in this browser.

Is the Level 60 date calculated the same way?

No. The next checkpoint follows current item timing, while the Level 60 estimate projects from completed-level pace. Keeping those methods separate avoids presenting an optimistic next level as a guaranteed long-term schedule.
